The authors’ main conclusion: As a data-driven industry, we have every reason to be optimistic about the future. However, in the age of AI, we must adapt to new forms of data provision: Measured and synthetic will become more prevalent. At the same time, high-quality data generated by real people will continue to be needed, both for primary studies and as training and calibration data for emerging AI models.
